More bike parking in the old town
Biel's old town, with its narrow lanes, is very popular with cyclists, yet it lacks safe and adequately sized parking facilities. As a result, bikes are often leaned haphazardly against building walls, railings or road signs, which affects both the townscape and accessibility for pedestrians.
We call on the City of Biel to install additional, clearly visible bike parking spaces in the old town, also taking cargo bikes and e-bikes into account, in order to specifically promote cycling as a climate-friendly mode of mobility.
